Job Description

Nortech is an independent British company that specialise in the design, manufacture and distribution of people and vehicle access control solutions.

The role of a Key Account Manager is to implement sales strategy to increase opportunities and revenue from existing and new accounts. To ensure productivity and profit through the effective management of customer relationships focussed on ensuring customer retention, upselling all capabilities.

Account Management

  • Builds and strengthens customer relationships and loyalty, establishing strategic relationships
  • Promotes additional solutions to existing customers to assist in achieving Company budgets and to identify new opportunities where Nortech Control’s equipment and services can support customers
  • Using both traditional and creative techniques to develop relationships with stakeholders; including going to events and trade shows, networking on social media, getting warm introductions, and making product presentations
  • Raising quotes for customer enquiries, uploading these onto CRM system
  • Managing enquiry pipeline, proactively contacting customers who have made enquiries with a view to securing sales orders
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and supply report on the sales activities

New Business

  • Executes sales plans, forecasts & opportunity identification for market relationships and clients
  • Targets new accounts in line with the Company Sales Strategy
  • Creates and values opportunities & converts into orders
  • Gains additional customers; books appointments, presents to the prospective customer, successfully negotiates new contracts
  • Demonstrates equipment and technology as required
  • Participates and executes presentations including shows and sales meetings

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent experience in B2B environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to develop effective customer relationships at all levels
  • Self-starter, with ability to generate leads, make appointments and attend and present at appointments
  • Self-motivated, positive and driven individual able to produce results in a competitive marketplace
  • Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Creative and innovative and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to operate effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, flexible with the ability to multi task
  • A collaborative and proactive team player using excellent relationship building qualities to win the hearts and minds of colleagues, customers, potential partners and suppliers
  • Set high standards, be goal orientated and have well developed commercial and financial awareness
  • Proven ability to maximise and deliver targeted revenues
  • A proactive approach to existing and new customers
  • Accepts regular travel throughout the UK with overnight stays where required
  • Accepts occasional travel overseas where required
  • Has a full driving licence
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Understanding and knowledge of security industry and related products
  • Current client contacts relevant to industry
  • Experience and understanding of new business generation on LinkedIn
  • Proven successful experience in cold outreach via email and phone calls
