Lead Legal Role in a Dynamic Sports Media Subsidiary.


An excellent Senior Legal Counsel role to manage the legal function of a subsidiary of a global sports media business renowned for live streaming over 20,000 games annually. This 12-month role offers a unique chance to shape the legal strategy of a cutting-edge company at the intersection of sports, technology, and betting.

Key Responsibilities:

– Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of a wide range of commercial agreements.

– Provide legal support for M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiations, and integration.

– Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly in areas related to gambling, data privacy, technology, and intellectual property.

– Provide staff training on key legal issues and regulatory responsibilities.

– Monitor changes in legislation and industry regulations that may impact the company.

– Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and strategic initiatives.

– Perform Company Secretary duties, including preparing and circulating materials for board and shareholder meetings.

– Support the board of directors and executive team in corporate governance matters.

– Develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize legal risks and protect the company’s assets.

– Manage and oversee all legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

– Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to handle complex legal matters.


Skills and Experience:

– Qualified UK solicitor with at least 5 years of experience in private practice and/or in-house roles.

– Strong background in technology, IP commercial law and online Gaming / Betting.

– Experience in the sports and betting industries, particularly in areas related to sports data and technology.

– Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

– Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

– Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

– Familiarity with international legal frameworks and cross-border transactions.

– Strong business acumen and the ability to align legal strategies with business goals.
