With the launch of three brands at the start of 2023, there is a substantial opportunity for a marketing professional to step into this new role, develop the team and cultivate impact by taking the brands to market in partnership with the Commercial Divisions and Senior Executive Team.

The role

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Senior Marketing and Content Manager [SMCM] is responsible for the development and execution of the brand and marketing plans for CHR and its commercial divisions of Solici and Vox.Bio. The SMCM will support the development of brand strategy, delivering new product launches, promotions, and marketing campaigns to drive profitable growth and brand penetration.

We are looking for a confident marketeer who will thrive in a small, fast - paced, marketing and communications team where most ideas and planned activities are generated in-house.

Working with our external marketing contractor and Internal Communications and Events Manager, this person must have the ability to manage and partner with cross-functional teams and be able to successfully influence a variety of senior stakeholders.

This role is both strategic and hands-on and we’re looking for someone who can see the bigger picture whilst also being able and willing to execute, particularly around content generation. This might be the right role for you if you have experience as a Marketing or Brand Manager and are looking to take a step up and manage a Marketing and Communications team.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience or background in Pharma, Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors.
  • Digital marketing experience, specifically LinkedIn.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly articulate ideas and offer unique solutions to challenges, both verbally and visually.
  • Experience of campaign development and delivery; development of brand and media strategy ideally from a professional services background.
  • Proficiency in devising, implementing, and supporting recruitment and talent acquisition campaigns.
  • Expertise in customer segmentation and analysis.
  • Effective project management skills.


What you need to have:

  • Extremely high degree of attention to detail and organisation skills, able to prioritise information and time to meet business needs and focus resource for maximum return on investment [RoI].
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with natural leadership qualities to inspire and motivate both team and business.
  • People and line management skills, with proven judgement, demonstrating drive, influence, and collaboration.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities evidenced by successful delivery of projects in a previous marketing role.
  • High proficiency in core marketing principles and practices, including brand development and positioning, integration of messages.
  • Compelling interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Thrive on working in a fast moving, high-growth brand environment, with a small team in a medium sized business.
  • Experience of leading and project managing multiple brand campaigns within the UK market [US experience a bonus].
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation and industry best practice.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office [PowerPoint, Excel, Word].

What you’ll do

  • Lead and line manage the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Work in partnership with our Commercial Divisions [Solici and Vox.Bio] to take the new brands to market and raise their visibility, driving the delivery of but not restricted to thought papers, roundtables, conference keynotes and press coverage.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure effective and robust means of tracking brand health and measuring campaign performance.
  • Responsible for creation and delivery of all marketing and campaign copy.
  • Responsible for creation and delivery of presentations as required including Brand Strategy, business updates, sales presentations, marketing calendar, training.
  • Acting as a point of control for advertising spend, maintaining budgets and tracking return on investment – with final approval on any marketing investment.
  • Accountable for the content on the CHR, Solici and Vox.Bio websites and content on third party channels, such as LinkedIn.
  • Develop strong relationships with external suppliers, including advertising agencies, to ensure our approaches are fit for purpose and allow us to grow.
  • Develop strong materials, tools, and key messages to support the broader team to fully engage and execute brand strategy with ease and understanding.
  • Provide timely and accurate input to forecasts and annual budget planning process.
  • Responsible for ongoing competitor and trend analysis to ensure accurate reporting of brand performance and marketing RoI for the CEO, Senior Executive Team, and Board.
  • Partnering with the external marketing contractor on brand strategy and tactical planning. Responsible for ensuring a consistent brand image globally, working with the CEO office as well as Creative and Media agencies, eCom, and Trade Marketing.
  • Support the development of overall talent brand strategy, defining the 2023 roadmap, managing stakeholders across the business and ensure buy in to the Brand strategy
  • Work closely with our People team, raising awareness of CHR as an employer with both early career candidates and experienced hires, ensuring we present a consistent image across all engagement points.
