My client is a renowned multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy that offers a wide range of services across sectors such as Healthcare, Education and Residential buildings. They are known for our high-quality project delivery in areas like architecture, building surveying, building services, planning, interior design, sustainability, and project management.

They are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join Manchester team. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional ready to lead innovative projects and support our commitment to excellence and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop detailed mechanical designs for various building projects, ensuring high technical standards.
Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and schedules using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
Conduct and oversee feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments.
Define project briefs and budgets in client meetings, ensuring clear communication.
Ensure designs comply with legislation, codes of practice, and building regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Oversee the preparation and evaluation of tender documentation, providing clear recommendations.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior staff, aiding their professional development.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Participate in marketing efforts to expand our client base and contribute to fee proposals for M&E projects.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or near completion.
Proficiency with mechanical design software such as MEPWorx / IES, SBEM, AutoCAD, and Revit.
In-depth understanding of legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, and building regulations.
Strong leadership and project management skills with a proven track record in managing successful M&E teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., CIBSE).
Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
