This contractor has seen substantial growth across the business and partnered with a healthy pipeline of work, they are looking to build and develop a quality design team internally moving forward. This is a great interim opportunity to potentially go permanent for candidates who are interested.

Your new role
The initial project will be a private school & student accommodation build
You will be responsible for:
- Prepare technical specifications and drawings using industry-standard software
- Carry out design from RIBA Stage 2 to construction
- Undertaking design calculation
- Managing multiple projects and prioritising workload meet all assigned deadlines
- Meeting with clients
- Design mechanical installations to meet British Standards
- Developing design proposals at sketch, detailed design and production stages
- Preparing tender documentation and reports
- Demonstrate a passion for mechanical design engineering and a willingness to learn
- Support senior members of staff in managing client and design team relationships
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified, or suitable equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering or related subjects
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a building services design role
- Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools: Hevacomp, NBS, AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft packages
- Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working for a contractor
- Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards
- Able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate proactively
- Good report writing skills
- Strong work ethic
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in projects between design and engineering management.
