Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Purpose

Working within our Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and issuing food process equipment to meet specific customer contract requirements and to support equipment development projects.

This will involve anything from configuring standard equipment to designing completely new equipment.

You will also provide technical support to all relevant business areas when needed, including sales, manufacturing / assembly, installation / commission, and customer services.

Main Duties

· Design mechanical equipment and systems, respecting the customer’s specifications, internal standards and quality procedures,

· Generate all associated drawings and specifications, part lists for manufacturing and assembly purposes

· Support manufacturing / assembly / installation and commission to resolve any issues, remaining the technical responsible throughout the projects,

· Implement continuous design improvements for our equipment and to design, test and develop new equipment,

· Help the Sales and Customer Services, as a Mechanical engineering and equipment expert,

Candidate Profile

· A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) or equivalent

· Experience in a relevant area experience of capital equipment: Food & Beverage, O&G, Pharmaceuticals…

· Ability to use 3D drawing packages and PLM Software,

· Experience of preparing and checking mechanical calculations,

· Solution-driven and customer-oriented sensibility

· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise accordingly,

· Experience of European Directives and harmonized Standards, as well as global machinery standards

· Strong ability to both self-lead and work effectively within a team.
