The Role

We are seeking a Senior 3D Designer with strong creative and 3D skills. The ideal candidate should be able to conceptualize, create and execute high-quality 3D designs. They should have a deep understanding of 3D design principles and an ability to apply these principles in their work.

Working closely with our 3D graphics team and Creative Director your role will be to create 3D motion graphics for our live events and permanent installations. Recent projects have included large-scale projection mapping shows, interactive realtime games and motion graphic animations for brand storytelling.

The Senior 3D Designer will be responsible for managing their own projects from concept to completion, ensuring that all work is delivered on time and to the highest standard, and contributing ideas as well as artwork.

Character animation abilities would be a big bonus for this role, but are not essential.


Responsibilities:

  • 3D Proficiency: Mastery of a 3D software (such as Maya, Cinema 4D, or Blender) to create stunning motion graphics, animations, and visual effects.
  • Design Aesthetics: A keen eye for aesthetics, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Live Event Design: Ability to breathe life into live events through beautiful content, whether it's via the medium of projection mapping or LED.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including art directors, technical specialists, and project managers.
  • Project Ownership: Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in motion graphics design or VFX, preferably in events or entertainment.
  • Portfolio: Showcase a diverse portfolio demonstrating your 3D motion graphics expertise.
  • Software Skills: Strong working knowledge of your chosen 3D software (Cinema4D, Blender etc) with an extensive portfolio
  • Creativity + Enthusiasm: Innovative thinker with a passion for pushing creative boundaries and a desire to learn and understand real-time workflows and programs such as Unreal, Notch or Ventuz (if this is something you don’t already have knowledge of.)
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a wider design team, delivering work to tight deadlines
  • Location: Ability to work from our office in Chester, North West England.


Nice to have:

  • Professional character animation experience
  • Proven skills in Notch, Unreal or Ventuz
  • Audio knowledge and ability to edit audio
  • Previous experience creating content for projection mapping shows, and interactive installations
  • Knowledge of disguise or other media servers
  • Experience using DaVinci Resolve for editing
