Job Description

Clearing & Payments department supports the Bank in a back office capacity, supporting the Bank’s operational processing for various banking product, working with retail branches and front office teams to support London Branch and Subsidiary customers. As a Senior Officer - CHAPS CRM, you will be responsible to take actions required as a Direct Participant of CHAPS. You will be experienced in supporting and managing regulatory reporting projects including but not limited to CHAPS annual attestation. This is a full time permanent role.Key responsibilitiesDocument appropriate controls based on regulatory needs and assessing the effectiveness of such controls by conducting control testingCoordinate across three lines of defence to ensure project task is completed in a timely mannerPrepare and manage questionnaire responses from Bank of EnglandPrepare regular reports for Head of Department and Senior Management when requiredComplete CHAPS Compliance analysis, thus developing suitable controls and remediation actionAnalyse CHAPS activities, identify relevant risks and document themAssist to discover, detect, document, manage and mitigate CHAPS related full range of risk typesProvide support for the first line of defence (1LoD) to identify risks as well as document and manage them. Provide assistance in designing controls and testing their effectivenessAssist to complete CHAPS Quarterly RCSASupport CHAPS morning and late shift including extensions as CHAPS OperatorMaintain full knowledge of all CHAPS manuals, rules and updatesAssist CHAPS representatives to ensure our full compliance with the latest published CHAPS rules and regulationsLiaise with internal and external auditorsParticipate in any CHAPS related projects and product development to ensure business requirements are metEscalate operational processing issues and general payment queries when requiredRequirementsDegree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent  Experience within the Financial Services industry and proven track record in similar business streamExperience of SWIFT and CHAPS payment processing and relevant global payment schemesExperienced in SWIFT Payment Messages both MT and MX (ISO20022) is desirableProject management experienceRisk and controls experienceKnowledge of relevant legislations such as Consumer Duty, FCA and PRA regulationsA problem solver, someone who can use their initiative to resolve queriesCapable of working in a fast paced environment, whilst being able to deliver high qualitySolid analytical skillsDetail orientedExcellent organisation skillsTeam playerGood MS Excel skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both IT and non-IT audiencesFlexible with working hours
