About the Role: As an Senior Operational Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the identification, evaluation, and management of operational risks across the business. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will assist in the ongoing development and enhancement of the Risk Management Framework and be a visible leader in promoting a robust risk environment. This role requires you to collaborate effectively across Front, Middle, and Back Office functions, contributing to risk discussions, and driving continuous improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business areas to manage and enhance Risk Registers and Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), ensuring accurate reflection of risks and controls.
  • Promote risk awareness and effective risk discussions across all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor and report on Risk Events and Operational Losses, conducting root cause analysis and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support the development and roll-out of Operational Risk technology, reporting strategies, and the overall Risk Management Framework.
  • Perform thematic reviews, data analytics, and scenario analysis for ICAAP and ICARA.
  • Engage in horizon scanning to identify emerging risks and contribute to the design of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance to other business areas on operational risk, helping to embed a positive risk culture.
  • Support the integration of new business and contribute to Risk Committee reporting.


Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong knowledge of regulation and its application to internal operational processes and controls.
  • Proven experience in implementing change initiatives and delivering cultural change within an organization.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical business practices.
  • Ability to build constructive relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong team player with a proactive approach and ability to lead enhancement work independently.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internal IT systems.
  • Degree in Risk Management or equivalent qualification.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with control self-assessment techniques and experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
  • Experience in the implementation of Risk Frameworks and best practices.
