Turner Lovell are recruiting for afast-growingg international EPC contractor who have a strong pipeline of HVDC, HV-A,C and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe.

We are looking for a Senior Project Planning professional with a strong background in HV Transmission & Distribution, to play an active role in project management support of multi-disciplined, multi-sector project delivery work by facilitating the planning, scheduling, and controlling processes. Providing advice, support, and clear communication of fact-based answers to key management questions which will aid in intelligent and effective decision-making.


The ideal candidate will have construction site experience, have advanced knowledge of Primavera 6 and be confident to support contract variation and claims.


The successful candidate will be the Senior Planning Engineer with the following expertise:


  • experience in planning major turnkey infrastructure projects
  • Primavera P6 user
  • of risk management processes and tools
  • managing small teams within a large project
  • of cost control function and interface with schedule on large turnkey projects
  • level of relevant industry knowledge within the Renewable Energy / Power Generation sector
  • in applying forensic analysis on large turnkey projects


This role would see you working on the following:


  • the project baseline gaining approval of client and internal stakeholders
  • project schedule and resource forecasts throughout the project lifecycles
  • schedule and trends and communicate forecasted schedule risk to the project team, drive risk mitigation proposals
  • a register of potential schedule and cost risks in collaboration with the Risk Manager
  • and controls schedule movements, comparing with current scope and progress as well as with previous forecast. Also comparing with productivity factors and validating accuracy of future task durations
  • that forecast task durations and logic are understood and committed by the task owners
  • and communicating internal and external project reporting of project status
  • collaboration with 3rd parties on project schedule interfaces including maintenance of an interface register
  • all time schedule data in a transparent way, attending project and management reviews to present schedule status
  • time-related calculations to ensure change order schedule/cost estimates are accurate
  • with the Cost Controller to ensure reconciliation between P6 schedule and approved cost phasing
  • the team of Project Planning Engineers on large and complex projects
  • full responsibility for the planning output for the assigned project(s) as part of the project controls function
  • collaboration with functional task and resource owners to find strategies to reduce durations and manhours
  • efficiency and effectiveness of the project controls team
