Senior Power Electronics Engineer – Gate Drives

I am currently working with a technology company in Birmingham that due to its continued success is looking to add a Senior Power Electronics Engineer focused on Gate Drives to its team of world-class engineers.


About the role

As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will develop start-of-the-art power electronics systems and components for different industries including rail, EV, and renewable energies but this role will be focused on Gate Drives for traction applications.


The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Circuit design, simulation, and test verification of Gate Drives and Power semiconductors.
  • Design and development of Gate Driver boards.
  • Hardware circuit analysis, including FMEDAs, FTAs, diagnostic coverage analysis, DFMEA,

DRBFM reliability analysis, etc.

  • Hardware design simulation calculations, including tolerance, worst case, derating, EMC, thermal, simulation, etc. define technical specifications and prepare work reports.


The successful candidates will possess a degree in electronics or electrical engineering with a proven background in the below:

  • Gate Driver board debugging and double pulse testing.
  • power supply design- Push-Pull, Flyback, and LLC power supplies.
  • DC-AC Inverters.
