Job Description

This role is for an experienced, Senior PR and Communications Executive with a proven track record in delivering effective and timely communications to both external and internal audiences.

This role is split into two main areas covering PR and stakeholder communications and works closely with both the Head of Marketing and the Channel Marketing Manager to ensure the reputation of Motability Operations Ltd is protected and promoted positively. The successful candidate will have experience in these areas and will be confident in delivering a range of communications in a timely manner to relevant stakeholders.

Manage the public profile and reputation of Motability Operations Ltd

  • Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you will manage the relationship with our external PR agencies to:
    oHandle and respond to a range of reactive media enquiries
    oDeliver positive PR coverage to maintain the reputation of the Scheme and increase awareness through a range of press releases supporting quarterly pricing, customer events and other marketing activity
    oProvide PR support to the team and wider business areas when needed such as new product launches / Scheme changes
    oMonitor daily media coverage and online activity
    oProvide briefings on key topics to the senior management team
  • Manage the Stakeholder Engagement Programme: 
    oWork closely with our external PR agency to drive engagement and develop our relationships with both new and existing key disability organisations
    oCoordinate face-to-face briefings and regular meetings to update these stakeholders on business activities
    oDeliver regular communications such as quarterly e-newsletters, engagement events and presentations for meetings and AGMs
    oReview and manage sponsorship/partnership opportunities received throughout the year
  • Work closely with the Motability charity to maintain a positive public profile of the Motability Scheme 
Stakeholder Communications
  • Manage corporate communications:
    oResponsible for ensuring the Motability Operations Ltd brand is communicated consistently and accurately, protecting the reputation of the company:
    oManaging the content and copy on the corporate website (motabilityoperations.co.uk) including regular news updates and regulatory reporting requirements
    oPrepare up-to-date and on-brand content to support external facing corporate communications 
    oPoint of contact for the business for general company information and reviewing corporate case studies for suppliers and partners 
    oBrand management of the Motability Operations Ltd brand and logo
  • Manage the disability organisation engagement programme: 
    oWork closely with our external PR agency to drive engagement and develop our relationships with both new and existing key disability organisations
    oCoordinate face-to-face briefings and regular meetings to update these stakeholders on business activities
    oDeliver regular communications such as quarterly e-newsletters, engagement events and presentations for meetings and AGMs
    oReview and manage sponsorship/partnership opportunities received throughout the year
  • Support HR in the delivery of internal communications including:
    oRegular, company-wide communications to drive employee engagement and a positive company culture (e.g. employee newsletter, intranet and employee initiatives)
    oCompiling and circulating monthly company performance report
    oSupporting employee events 
Budget management
  • Work with the Channel Marketing Manager to manage the relevant areas of the Channel Marketing budget, track the spend for the above activities and provide updates on the current and expected spend when required
About You

You will have gained the following skills/experience:

  • Experience of working in a marketing/comms/PR-based role for 3+ years, with specific experience or interest in PR and internal/corporate communications
  • Excellent written communication skills and a keen eye for detail 
  • Experience managing external suppliers and agencies 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve deadlines
  • Confident in managing both internal and external stakeholders 
  • PR, communications, or marketing qualification
  • Experience using Content Management systems
  • Experience working in a sensitive political or regulated environment
