About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior practitioner to join the team at the SAMH Ledmore Care Home in Drumchapel. The Senior Practitioner will provide direction and guidance to a team of staff supporting individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing, while being guided by the Service Manager. The Ledmore Service supports people with complex mental health issues in all aspects of their day-to-day living offering emotional and practical support to encourage them to live fulfilled and meaningful lives.

We will ask you to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

The Senior practitioner will:

• Provide direction and guidance to a team of staff supporting individuals in the accommodation to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

• Work with service users to define their own action plans and coordinate, evaluate and review this support.

• Demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm.

• Carry out observations and sampling of staff practice and highlight areas for development and training needs to Service Manager.

• Maintain the highest personal and professional standards. Work professionally and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues, those who use our services and members of the public and to meet the requirements of funders and regulators.

• Be responsible for the Co-ordination, assessments, monitoring and review for individuals using the service,

• Act as the key contact and develop positive relationships with individuals, families, multi-agency teams and communities.

As the post will involve a variety of shift patterns including evening, weekends, sleepover shift and on-calls, you will be flexible in the hours and shifts you are available to work.

The successful candidate will ideally hold a SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or the willingness to undertake this.
