Spencer Ogden in partnered with an international leader in offshore energy, seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant adept at preparing and evaluating oil and gas permits in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).

About the job

As an integral member of the Permits & Licensing team, you'll play a pivotal role in assisting a diverse array of projects, encompassing electrification, oil and gas initiatives, and potentially renewable energy ventures, from inception to decommissioning stages. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments within the Environment Division and the broader consultancy team.


Responsibilities:

  • Encompassing project management or sponsorship roles across multiple operations
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, overseeing day-to-day interactions and guiding consultants to ensure the timely and budget-compliant execution of these complex projects
  • You'll be tasked with report composition and client engagement, working alongside senior consultants to facilitate project delivery
  • Contributing to the business development, including identifying and securing key projects
  • Working with marine and engineering specialists in the delivery of multi-disciplinary scopes
  • Developing and upskilling colleagues


Key qualifications

  • Substantial demonstrated experience in oil and gas permitting
  • Familiarity with offshore energy sectors, and a degree-level education in pertinent disciplines such as environmental science, chemistry, or engineering
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
  • Desirable attributes include a robust grasp of offshore legislation, prior engagement in legislative review and consultation processes, and participation in technical working groups.
