Job Description

We are recruiting for two highly skilled Senior Procurement Analysts to join our Data Team with the Commercial and Procurement Shared Service for Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and the Highland Council. Working closely with the Data Team Leader you will have the opportunity to make a real impact as you support the development of high-quality data analytics and performance information, providing expertise in data modelling, analytics and visualisation necessary to drive service improvement and make key business decisions.This is an exciting time to join the team as we are continually improving our data, analytical and market intelligence capabilities through the implementation of Power BI as an example.

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Skills & Experience in:

Excellent understanding of data analysis and management functions (sourcing, analysis, reporting etc.)

High level of problem solving / analytical / numerical skills.

Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies

An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to interpret large volumes of data and accurately analyse & present complex
information

Ability to develop effective processes, systems and tools to support good business
practices

Strong team working skills

Ability to manage workload and work to tight deadlines

Ability to work autonomously, think strategically and to explain alternative perspectives

Flexibility and the ability to respond to urgent requests, simultaneous demands or
shifting priorities

Use of personal computers and related Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI

Understanding of:

Procurement activities in a public sector organisation

Local government procurement regulations and legislation

Working within multi-disciplinary or cross functional teams

Use of ICT equipment and related Microsoft Office applications
