Job Description

Based in Stoneleigh, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Procurement & Contracts Manager on a fixed term contract. This role will support the Head of Procurement in the implementation of procurement and contract management policies, leading and supporting the team to deliver high value and high complex procurements in line with strategic category management objectives and overseeing the management of procurement resource to support AHDB organisational objectives. The position may also offer the opportunity to cover aspects of the Head of Procurement role from May 2023, details of which will be discussed during the interview process.

We are looking for a proactive Level 6 CIPS qualified Procurement professional with previous experience of contract management having previously worked within a similar public sector organisation.

AHDB are moving to new premises in Coventry (CV3) from April 2023, just a short distance from our current location in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. We will continue to offer hybrid working two/three days per week from Coventry and the remainder remotely from home.
Category Management development and procurement strategy implementation
Prioritising Value for Money and adding value through creating opportunities and collaborating with stakeholders
Effectively managing contracts and guiding the organisation through contract management best practice
Building relationships internally and externally to enhance understanding and procurement outcomes
Further responsibilities may include:
Leading and managing the Procurement Team
Ensuring compliance is in line with regulatory and legislative requirements across third party spend and reporting to committees and senior teams
Acting as the sole senior Procurement professional providing advice and guidance across the business and providing commercial assurance at the most senior level
Degree qualified or equivalent with experience of working in a similar devolved organisation
CIPS qualified (MCIPS) to level 6
IACCM qualified or equivalent experience of contract management
Experience or good understanding of Public Contracts Regulations 2015
Proactive individual who strives for continuous improvement and has a successful track record of delivering results
Well-developed oral and written communication skills to enable discussion of procurement information with staff at all levels within AHDB
Collaborative individual with good listening and reflective skills
Commercial aptitude, strong influencing and interpersonal skills
