Gleeson Logistics are exclusively partnering with a Nationally renowned student accommodation provider in their search for a Senior Procurement Manager.


The Senior Procurement Manager is the champion of the supply chain, and it starts and ends with their ability to deliver the best possible commercial terms for the business. Responsible for ensuring the infrastructure, assets and operations of the organisation have the right equipment, services and support – everything they need, when they need it, where they need it: whilst forever driving continued value from the supply chain.


Developing and gatekeeping a sound purchasing strategy, the Senior Procurement Manager will ensure the organisation and its’ Team Members adhere to our practices. Building excellent relationships with an expertly procured supplier network, they will deliver value to all end users, not just in terms of cost but also in terms of service and quality.

Own:

Create and manage a well-balanced and cost-effective Preferred Supplier List that delivers great value for all stakeholders.

  • A Business Continuity Plan for the Procurement function to ensure that the Company would not suffer material and adverse consequences in the event of a failure of a key supplier.
  • Onboarding of all suppliers, carrying out appropriate due diligence and ensuring they have the correct insurances, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other statutory documentation in place.
  • Negotiation of all contracts so that the business is on the most preferable rates available at all times.
  • Analysis of current usage of all goods and services across the business and deliver improvements through new relationships and or contracts.
  • Reporting to demonstrate the cost efficiencies delivered through a well-managed supply chain.
  • Maintenance, review and development of the procurement controls environment including responsibility for maintaining and updating all procurement policies and procedures for the group.
  • KPI’s to support all stakeholders in knowing what success looks like.
  • Development of the function to incorporate new acquisitions and organic growth.
  • Ad-hoc projects as required.


Lead:

  • Seek new and innovative ways of improving service delivery through new suppliers and technology.
  • Remain abreast at all times of the most recent innovations for improving service delivery for our students.
  • The procurement coordinator.
  • The communication channels between all your teams’ key stakeholders.
  • An approach to continuous improvement.


Teach:

  • The importance of procurement controls to the business.
  • Every stakeholder the role of the procurement team and what they can and can’t do with existing and future suppliers.
  • The principle of the opportunity held in scalable purchasing with all stakeholders.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of the procurement coordinator.


Collaborate:

  • Work closely with the procurement team at our owners.
  • Build outstanding relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, operational managers, members of the senior leadership team and our owners.
  • Regular communication by the most appropriate means with internal colleagues to ensure all tasks across the team can be completed in a timely manner.
  • Consult with all stakeholders to ensure all suppliers are in place for all seasonal surge activities.
