With our continued growth, we’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer / Procurement Professional to join our team as Senior Procurement Manager in Wolverhampton.


As a Senior Procurement Manager you will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating and purchasing products or our industrial distribution business. You will be a pivotal part of the team and its success so get ready to be in demand.

The Role


We support our customers to ensure they have all the parts, spares and tooling they need to operate as well as working hard to ensure we obtain the best deals with suppliers.


As Senior Buyer/Procurement, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, planning procurement activities,


You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, forecast demand and optimise stock levels within the Category function. Quality assurance and compliance are key aspects of this role, ensuring that our goods meet the quality and regulatory standards.


Analysing data, you will utilise this to track spending, identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in the procurement process, including identifying suppliers, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts to ensure optimal pricing and terms.
  • Own the overall commercial process within our business ensuring elements like Rebate targets are managed, tracked & exceeded
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance.
  • Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and product innovations to inform purchasing decisions and drive competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, Supply chain and finance teams, to understand business requirements and develop procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing working capital and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through supplier consolidation, contract renegotiation, and process improvements.
  • Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks, proactively identifying potential disruptions and implementing contingency plans.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management.


Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within the industrial distribution or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems, e-procurement platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification(s) in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
