As Senior Manager, Procurement and Technical Services, you will report to DaVita International’s Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer and hold global responsibility for procurement and biomedical technical services.


Procurement

  • End to end responsibility for global procurement, comprising c. $130m in annual spend managed globally.
  • Define global procurement strategy for machines and medical supplies, considering long-term needs of the business across all geographies.
  • Manage multi-market negotiations and long-term relationships with global suppliers.
  • Drive continuous evolution of all procurement and supplier management processes across the Company and work with functional stakeholders (Legal, Compliance) to ensure alignment with internal and external/regulatory policies.
  • For procurement that is handled locally, act as a strategic partner to local procurement leads as they manage local vendors.
  • Line management of a senior analyst.


Technical Services

  • In the dialysis industry, biomedical technical services (Biomed) must be in lockstep with procurement decisions, and as such you will have end-to-end responsibility for global Biomed.
  • This responsibility comprises safety and cost management of the fleet of dialysis machines, water treatment systems, and associated maintenance teams.
  • Technical experience is a not a requirement for this role, as you will be managing a technical biomed manager as a member of your team.
  • Key strategic projects that you will oversee in this role are efforts to in-source maintenance teams and the roll-out of a new global asset management tool.


You should expect periodic international travel (up to 10%).


Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in a strategic procurement role
  • Experience working in healthcare or life sciences preferred (in particular dialysis)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Financial acumen, ability to coach analysts on model creation
  • Strong business and organizational skills: proficiency with identifying, defining and resolving problems; developing systemic solutions
  • Strong project planning skills, process improvement skills, ability to manage projects to meet specific deadlines
  • Effective and motivational written and oral communications skills; ability to teach and to deliver concise and effective presentations
