Job Description

We are recruiting a Senior Programme Manager to support and drive the delivery of our Genetics data programme. You will manage delivery across multiple cross-functional teams within the organisation including, but not limited to; genetic epidemiology, technology, product and data. In addition, the programme will rely on collaborating successfully with external partners and suppliers who are required to develop the data pipelines. You will plan and deliver a complex, highly detailed programme covering all aspects of the genetics data process and release of genetic data into the Trusted Research Environment (TRE).

As Senior Programme Manager you will work across the organisation to develop and deliver a roadmap through managing the competing priorities and milestones but, most importantly, maintaining the quality and security of the processes and the data both for researchers and the Our Future Health participants who are at the heart of everything we do.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Programme management of a portfolio of challenging and ambitious operational projects to facilitate the recruitment of participants.
  • Implementing and supporting the use of appropriate project methodologies, digital tools, and ways of working to empower cross-functional teams to make good decisions, to prioritise, and deliver efficiently. 
  • Delivering the administrative needs of the programme through providing status reports, risk management, options appraisals, resource modelling, supporting budget management, and delivering within constraints.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders, often with competing business needs, and providing innovative solutions to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Undertaking reflective learning and evaluation of projects and contracts.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of ‘ways of working’ and maintaining all program standards including documentation on Project SharePoint Sites.

We’re an agile team who work in short, product focused development cycles, solving complex technology problems in collaboration with a ground-breaking team of Behavioural Scientists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Operations specialists, and Ethicists. We’ve come from start-ups, tech companies, universities, the NHS and health charities. Together we’re experienced in building and scaling big consumer products, working with different kinds of health data.

To succeed you will have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant Senior Programme Management experience.An understanding of scientific terminology would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable leading teams through uncertainty and supporting/motivating them to deliver in an environment of shifting priorities and requirements.
  • Experience working with software teams in a B2B or B2C environment and dealing with rapid develop/test/release cycles, managing supplier relationships, working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in agile and lean methodologies and able to use waterfall techniques where appropriate.
  • Appropriate Project Management qualifications. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, JIRA, Confluence).
  • The ability to derive insights from data, support teams to do their best work, and effectively report up and down an organisation. 
  • Experience working in small, early-stage organisations undergoing rapid change with growing teams.
  • Up to £85,000 per annum basic salary.
