About us

Cohabs is an institutionally backed co-living company that creates a network of flexible, fully furnished housing by creating sustainable community-driven shared houses.

We buy, renovate, and manage buildings located in the best neighbourhoods of London, Brussels, New York, Paris, Madrid, Luxembourg and Milan.  We are a vertically integrated company, capturing every part of the value-chain from site identification right through to long term operation.

We started just over 7 years ago and are expanding fast. To support our UK growth, we are looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to drive our Construction and Design Operations. The Senior Construction Project Manager will report directly to the London City Manager and oversee all Construction Management for London. We plan to buy and open 15-20 buildings per year over the next 3 years in London and simultaneously launch 2 - 3 more UK cities in the next 3 years. This hire would lead the charge into new territories helping to recruit new talent and set up local ops. We currently have 5 live buildings under renovation in London and this number is constantly growing.

Mission

Pre-construction + Project Setup:

  • Creation of asset renovation budget and timeline
  • Architecture and Design plan review, creation of Scope of Works
  • Manage planning permission process
  • Negotiate best price and conditions with General Contractors and suppliers
  • Come up with creative solutions to meet your budget

Management + oversight of all renovation projects in London:

  • Coordination of all parties on site (architects, M&E, building control, GCs etc)
  • Planning and budget monitoring
  • Quality control via site visits and clear documentation
  • Streamlined reporting to City Manager and VP of Project Management Global

Project Delivery:

  • Managing the project timeline and ensure all teams stay on budget throughout
  • Technical review and systems testing, equipment installation, FF&E etc
  • Liaise with our Local Procurement and Product Teams, as well as our Belgian HQ Decoration teams and designers to ensure each project is designed and executed to the Cohabs brand standard
  • Constantly evolve the local safety framework, to ensure that the highest standards of safety are being met on site
  • Push to ensure that the project is finished to the highest energy efficiency and sustainability standards

Your Profile

  • You have 5-15 years of previous experience in Construction Project Management of real estate projects - managing every single trade.
  • Particularly experience of renovation / repositioning opportunities of old buildings
  • You can see through the BS and will challenge every decision made by contractors.
  • You have exceptional judgement and can make sound decisions
  • You have a deep network of partners (GCs, architects, suppliers etc)
  • You know the ins and outs of the UK building code and have the core regulations committed to memory
  • Very organised and comfortable with data, budgets and reporting
  • A drive to innovate - desire to evolve the product and make each house better.

We are looking for someone relentless that can work in a fast paced, high pressure work environment and that does not sweat the small stuff.  We need you to be able to roll up your sleeves and manage our most complex function.  Although we've grown, we will always operate like a startup. You will be pushed to your limits and may be doing several things outside the scope of this job description - you need to be cool with that.

Cohabs has an incredibly unique culture - we care intensely about what we do and we push ourselves to our limits to achieve our goals.  In the process we have a lot of fun (annual ski trips, regular company retreats, crazy house opening parties etc) and get to build lifelong, global friendships.
