Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team and help us test and deliver quality software solutions that are fit for use and purpose. This role is hybrid but could be based in our Manchester city centre or Whitley (Yorkshire) office.

What will you be doing in this role?
As a Senior QA Engineer at Tunstall, you will be focused on improving our ability to test efficiently as well as enhancing the product and customer experience. You will help implement a team, lead on test automation strategy design and implementation, so you must have a proven track record of software testing for organisations where time to market, quality and rapid change are critical to the company's success.
The Ideal candidate:
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience as a Senior QA Engineer, using your strong communication skills to drive the importance of quality and testing throughout the entire software development life cycle. You will review, analyse and recommend appropriate tools for automation and non-functional testing including, performance, load, stress and security testing. You will also have a hunger for continuous improvement and innovation.
Any experience of working within a business moving from Legacy to modern systems and working with cloud micro services using Microsoft and / or mobile applications would be desirable, but not essential.
Key skills and experience:
Passionate about building a great consumer product that our customers will love
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven-track record as an effective Quality Engineer in complex software development projects
Demonstrated experience of both manual and automated testing methods
In depth experience of Test Automation Development
Experience of Agile Methodologies and frameworks like Scrum / Kanban / SAFe
Working knowledge of development languages for unit testing (we mainly use Microsoft/C#/React/Angular at Tunstall)
Experience supporting developers in writing better test automation
Experience mentoring and coaching other team members on software testing best practices
Working knowledge of a development language such as Java, Python or C#
Demonstrated experience of testing microservice based architectures and understanding data flow through such systems
Experience taking on complex technical concepts and information relatively quickly in most contexts and providing immediate advice on effective courses of action
Expertise demonstrating & illustrating an understanding of solution architecture including system design, data design and data flow
Expertise in testing at API layers (e.g. REST)
Experience of testing tools like Selenium / Appium or similar
