Senior Quantity Surveyor Job in South West London

Senior Quantity Surveyor job for an established multidisciplinary consultancy based in South West London or Sevenoaks, Kent. Reporting to the Director of the London office, you will be working on major regeneration, mixed-use, remedial cladding and infrastructure projects from RIBA stage 0 - 7. The role offers progression for the right candidate up to Associate level, offering a salary of up to £75,000 + Bonus + Healthcare + 24 Days Holiday + BH + Some flexibility to work remotely.

The role will be producing detailed cost plans, estimating and carrying out cost exercises including value engineering, tender stage management and valuations. They deliver major urban regeneration, mixed-use, remedial cladding projects for Local Authorities, Developers, Housing Association. With 4 offices across the south and circa 100 staff, they have formed a strong reputation in the residential and affordable housing sector and are also expanding into other public sector projects such as education and healthcare.

Role & Responsibilities

- Production of cost plans for new build residential/major regeneration, mixed-used projects, infrastructure and remedial cladding

- Estimating from RIBA Stage 0 initial concepts through to RIBA Stage 7

- Client liaison and attending design team meetings

- Cost exercises for clients including value engineering

- Client-side Valuations and certification

- Preparation of cost/benefit analysis of design options

- Ensuring all costs are tracked & validated

- Supporting clients by producing accurate and competitive cost estimates

- Tendering

- Reviewing and analysing main contractors' tender submissions

- Cost comparison and main contractor selection

- Negotiation with Contractors.

- Heading as PM on initial stages 0-2

- Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts

- Deal with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years as a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager / Cost Planner

- Consultancy background is essential

- MRICS / MCIOB preferred but not essential

- Elemental cost planning experience from drawings (including high-rise projects)

- Residential high-rise experience is essential

- Remedial cladding experience is essential

- Some major infrastructure experience is preferred

- Understanding of JCT Design & Build Contracts and PCSA Agreements.
