Job Description:

Team Role:


  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Act as the quantity surveying project lead for your projects.
  • Develop technical knowledge to give guidance to others across a variety of sectors.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the organisation.


Individual Duties:


  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and procurement plans.
  • Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and addressing any risks promptly.
  • Lead value engineering activities to ensure delivery of best value and compliance with budget forecasting when necessary.
  • Advising on procurement strategies and differing forms of contract.
  • Compiling contract documents, performance bonds and collateral warranties.
  • Administer contracts and manage variations, claims and disputes effectively.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of contract terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant regulations.
  • Implement robust cost control measures to optimise project profitability.
  • Track project costs, expenditures and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Opportunities for Contract Administration and Employer's Agent experience.


Skills and Requirements:


  • Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry - preferably at senior level.
  • MRICS status is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods and cost management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Experience in the refurbishment sector, with some new build preferable.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.

  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • JCT suites of contracts
  • NEC contracts.
  • Cost management software
  • Project management software.
  • MS365
