Senior Rail Telecommunications Engineer Job Title: Senior Rail Telecoms Engineer – Design Focused Contract Length: 12-Month Rolling Contract Location: Hybrid/Remote Contract Type: Outside IR35 Salary: Competitive (Circa)   About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Rail Telecoms Engineer with a strong focus on Design for an exciting long-term opportunity. This role offers flexibility with a 12-month rolling contract and is determined as Outside IR35, allowing you to work hybrid or fully remote depending on your preference.   As a Senior Telecoms Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering cutting-edge telecoms solutions within the rail sector. You will primarily focus on Radio and RF systems, with a broader involvement in wider telecoms infrastructure projects, ensuring solutions meet safety, compliance, and performance standards.   Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and delivery of Rail Telecoms systems, including Radio and RF solutions. Work closely with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure technical specifications are met. Oversee the end-to-end telecoms design process, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Provide technical support and guidance on telecoms infrastructure, including transmission, networking, and control systems. Develop and review detailed design documentation and technical reports. Ensure design projects are completed within agreed timeframes and budgets.   Essential Requirements: Proven experience as a Senior Telecoms Engineer within the Rail Industry. Strong design experience in Radio and RF systems for rail projects. Knowledge of wider telecoms systems, such as transmission, networking, and control systems. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements. Ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.   Desirable Skills: Experience working on large-scale rail infrastructure projects. Knowledge of safety-critical systems and experience in ensuring regulatory compliance.
