Our client are a pioneering, UK based Vertical Farming company, who’s goal is to utilize technology and CEA systems to innovate crop production. This a fantastic opportunity for anyone keen to start/continue their career within Vertical Farming R&D
The Role
The senior scientist will design, conduct and deliver data from trials focused on optimizing vertical farming systems and their application. Applying the principles of plant biology to design experiments to optimize production of soft fruits and other crops when considering both yield and quality
Requirements\Qualifications
- Post-graduate (PhD) degree/5 years equivalent experience of working in laboratory and research environments, preferably CEA/Vertical Farming facilities
- Knowledge and experience in the application of principles of plant biology coupled with good observational, problem solving and analytical skills to commercial challenges
- Interpersonal skills.Experience pitching and presenting research to external parties and internal stakeholders
- Project management skills and be capability for leading research programs involving external partners.
- Proficient IT skills
Main Purpose
- Delivering solutions and data into the wider business, primarily driving development of our systems (hardware and software engineering), and supporting the commercial team.
- Leading R&D collaborations with academics and other commercial organisations.
