Biotalent is supporting a leading Biotech company based in London seeking a highly motivated Antibody Engineer to join their dynamic research team. In this role, you will be the sole contributor in the design and development of antibodies. This role involves a mix of desk-based research and hands-on laboratory work, collaborating closely with other team members.
This is a great opportunity for an expert in the field that is looking for a more independent position, work closely with the CSO and have a great impact in the business.
Responsibilities:
Antibody Design and Optimisation:
- Utilise in silico methods to design tumor-specific bispecific antibodies, antibody mutants, and novel binding moieties.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate binding affinity, altered functionality, and stability of engineered antibodies (ELISA, Octet, FACS, etc.).
- Focus on creating stable antibodies suitable for therapeutic applications.
Assay Development and Analysis:
- Apply expertise in antibody engineering technologies and assays to produce, test, and analyse engineered antibodies.
- Optimise developability properties, including half-life modulation and effector function enhancement/reduction.
- Evaluate immunogenicity and humanness using computational tools.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively within the team and across disciplines.
Requirements:
- A PhD in Immunology, Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Protein Engineering, Molecular Biology, or related field.
- Strong background in bispecific antibody generation or other non-conventional antibody-based moieties.
- Familiarity with in silico antibody engineering methods (sequence analysis, molecular modelling, dynamics, machine learning-based approaches preferred)
- Ability to apply solutions and think out of the box.
