The JOB

We are seeking a client facing, energetic and highly motivated engineer with experience in designing and documenting electronic security systems for various architectural projects. We are expecting this role to commence within the next 3 months, and it can be based at either our London or Manchester office.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available to join our specialist group, ME Technology, working on internationally recognised projects. ME Engineers are a leading Engineering, Technology and Audio-Visual Consulting firm for Sports Facilities. You will integrate with all design disciplines and specialists to establish client requirements and provide engineered solutions to meet the clients’ expectations and budgets. You will be working with an experienced team, who will help you grow professionally, to assist delivery of this critical element of our built environment engineering solutions. This is a great opportunity for the right person to gain fantastic experience within a unique and energetic team atmosphere dealing with the world’s most iconic venues.

YOUR Qualifications/Skills

  • A background in working in an engineering/architectural design focused environment.
  • A background working with security risk assessors and strategists, to develop electronic security design that lowers risk.
  • Candidates should have experience and understanding of the RIBA process, stages, and expected level of deliverable at each stage. Demonstrating project planning, client briefing and developing design, task quality control procedures, resource planning and working with budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a client facing role, consulting, and presenting to clients, leading meetings.
  • Report writing, sketching, and preparing presentations.
  • Experience of managing 3rd parties and obtaining design approvals for authorities
  • Experience of Safety Regulations and designer responsibilities
  • Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • Experience of construction (on-onsite / off-site) site monitoring of works and witness testing of electronic security systems.
  • Collaborative and team-working ethos
  • An Engineering/related degree or relevant industry focused accreditation

  • Integrated Security Management Platforms
  • Control Rooms
  • Video Surveillance
  • Access Control, Intruder detection, Duress
  • Intercom
  • Gates, barriers, turnstiles, car parking management
  • Key management
  • Drone detection

  • Short stay ad-hoc UK and international travel may be required (typically Europe and Middle East)
