What we are looking for

As the Senior Social Media Manager, you’ll take ownership of the delivery of organic and paid Social Media projects against the plan and targets. Working closely with junior members of the team and other resources, you’ll take both a creative and commercial approach to campaigns and projects and accountability for the successful delegation and distribution of workloads to achieve deadlines and results. Part of your role will also see you line-manage and mentor junior members of the team.

You’ll be highly enthusiastic about all things social media and always looking for new innovations and best practices to share internally and with clients to continually improve current activities and future propositions. As a Senior Manager, you’ll also have exceptional operational, project management, and communications skills and be able to build and maintain successful day-to-day relationships with clients and colleagues to win and retain new business.

What you will do

Support new business activities:

  • Take the lead with pitching to client services teams on content that can be used to win new business.
  • Lead pitches and RFPs, inputting with your own strategic insight.

Client growth:

  • Lead with the creation and selling of new Social Media propositions to client teams.
  • Run Social Media workshops for clients, both face-to-face and online.
  • Support your director to help retain paid and organic Social Media work.

Client management:

  • Take the client and internal briefs and produce Social Media plans that meet or exceed the objectives.
  • Lead daily communication with clients and internal client service teams to ensure all briefs and deadlines are met effectively on time and to spec.
  • Support your director with face-to-face and online meetings with new and existing clients and take the lead in presenting social media propositions.

Planning and strategy:

  • Lead the planning of organic and paid Social Media campaigns and projects across multiple platforms.
  • Support Media teams with the strategy of paid Social Media campaigns.

Activation:

  • Set up, manage, and optimise different types of paid Social Media campaigns.
  • Approving creative and the management and scheduling of content.

Campaign management and delivery:

  • Manage costs incurred and revenue generated from Social Media platforms.
  • Suggest and implement new ideas, improvements, and optimizations to existing campaigns and projects to improve performance.
  • Problem-solve, taking the lead in proposing solutions to any campaign issues that may arise, communicating your recommendations back to the internal team.
  • Lead internal calls to help ensure the delivery is on track. Support and guide junior members of the team with any campaign issues.

Reporting:

  • Track, measure, analyse, and report on the performance of Social Media campaigns and projects regularly.
  • Share results, insights, and recommendations internally and with clients.
  • Speak up and provide solutions to internal teams if the results aren't delivered.

Insights:

  • Take an interest in current trends, and technology, developing your knowledge.
  • Support your Director with the Social Media strategy by staying on top of current trends, technology, and best practices to make recommendations to the wider team.

Mentorship:

  • Share and champion best practice social media.
  • Develop the skills of team members through on-the-job coaching, support, and guidance.
  • Create a positive team environment.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to support career development.
  • Successfully onboard and train new hires onto the team.
  • Manage, inspire, and motivate direct reports.

Who you are:

  • A desire to excel in a Social Media career.
  • Very good communication and project management skills and ability to present with confidence.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise multiple workstreams and escalate where necessary.

  • Very experienced with using Social Media tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Very strong understanding of LinkedIn and Meta.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Able to write compelling short-form copy.

What you will need:

  • At least five years of experience managing Social Media campaigns and projects,
  • Several years of experience working agency and/or client-side within a similar B2B role.
  • Previous management experience in line management and mentoring.
  • Highly experienced in strategic planning and implementation of organic and paid Social Media campaigns.
  • Highly experienced in running Social Media campaigns which include planning, setup, optimisations, budget management, and reporting against KPIs.
  • Experienced using various Social Media platforms in a professional capacity.
  • Evidence of developing and delivering successful B2B marketing campaigns in response to complex business challenges
  • Experience in managing key client and partner relationships and comfortable communicating at the Manager and Director level, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in Social Media measurement and performance metrics.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience and exposure within other areas of Paid Media is a bonus.
