As an established digital native, you will have the skills to help implement the team's communications strategy across their social media channels.

The team's social media output exists within their wider digital team which includes the management of their online ecosystem for multiple business stakeholders, including media, partner, supplier, and recruitment portals; conceptualisation and delivery of partnership rights in the digital space; e-commerce, CRM and more.

Reporting to the Head of Media & Editorial, this role will work closely with the Senior Digital Editor, Digital Operations Manager, and Creative Lead. Your role will see you collaborate with these colleagues to create and manage the implementation of the team's communications strategy across digital platforms, with specific responsibility for the social media component.

Objectives of this Role

  • Working with the digital team's senior leaders, deliver and manage the implementation of the team's communications strategy across digital platforms with responsibility for social media output.
  • Lead the social media team to deliver against the team's, and the communications department's, wider objectives.
  • Work closely with the Digital Operations Manager to develop and manage the team's paid social media strategy.
  • Working closely with the partner communications team, ensure best-in-class delivery of partner content across social media channels.
  • Ensure social media supports the growth of the wider digital ecosystem including owned channels such as the team's website, CRM and e-commerce programmes.
  • Ensure consistency of social media output that aligns with the team's objectives, values, and the communication department's storytelling ambitions.
  • Work closely with the Creative Lead to develop class-leading content and formats fit for a social media audience.
  • Lead and manage the community management strategy for the team across social media channels.
  • Play a role in leading and developing the digital team to become best-in-class across major sports organizations.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate with extensive Social Media experience in a comparable role, with a proven track record of managing large-scale sports related social media platforms. You will have an innovative mindset, constantly looking forward to new trends and technologies in social media. You will have the ability to demonstrate strong influencing and collaboration skills, with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
