We strive to expand global access to care and reduce variability through robotic and laparoscopic and AI/ML analytics-based solutions.As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test in the Device Application team, you’ll be primarily helping ensure that our device application software works under all operating conditions, which includes developing software test frameworks to simulate an operating room environment. Further, you’ll be helping to expand the feature-set of our devices while ensuring the codebase is maintainable, allowing us to continue to deliver the next generation of surgical technology. We’re looking for an approachable personality who can reach across disciplines to deliver value.A Day in the Life • Provide input into the production software design to allow for automated software system testing across a variety of use cases, some performance critical• Design, develop, and own software system automated test framework(s) to be able to test the software in an integration environment, and on the hardware itself• Contribute to the development process by providing code reviews and suggesting improvements for development and processes• Investigate, debug, and resolve issues reported from testing and support• Participate in the relevant security and regulatory compliance processes• Develop robust and secure-by-design software fit for a Class II medical deviceMust Haves • BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent• Good experience programming with C++• Good Unix/Linux knowledge• Experience with unit testing frameworks like GTest, and Boost Test, or similar• Experience with Docker and containerized development/testing• Flexible - you can independently solve problems as they arise, but are comfortable asking for help when you need it• Comfortable with complexity – being able to think through consequences of changes in a highly interconnected ecosystem over varied use environments• Willingness to be on-site (minimum 2 days/week in London office)Nice to Haves • Experience with python• Experience with yocto/buildroot or other similar build systems• Experience working with deployed hardware systems and remote device management• Knowledge of video encoding/codecs and related tooling (ffmpeg)• Experience with AWS• Understanding of core security concepts• Experience with software development for medical products or other safety-critical applicationsWe Offer We offer a competitive salary and benefits package to all our employees: • Flexible working environment • Annual Incentive Plan % depending on company results. • Pension scheme and group discount on healthcare insurances • Training possibilities via Cornerstone/Harvard Manage Monitor/Skills Lab • Employee Assistance Program and Recognize!
