Escape Recruitment is working with an organisation that supplies parts and components and is looking to appoint a Senior Sourcing Specialist.
The Senior Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new Suppliers.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Conducting comprehensive industry research to identify new suppliers
- Making introductions with potential suppliers to understand their service offering, pricing and lead times
- Negotiate and agree commercial terms with suppliers
- Ensuring all data relating to products, pricing and lead times is updated on the ERP system
- Identify supply options for customer requests and work with the Sales Team to source and plan quotation requests
- Maintain the database for approved suppliers
- Monitor Supplier Performance
- Mentor and support team members
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
- Experience working in a similar sourcing/procurement role with a bias on sourcing new suppliers
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
- Understanding of how to evaluate different suppliers
- Commercially minded and can negotiate effectively and maintain profitable supplier relationships
- Experienced in collecting and analysing data
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
- Build and maintain effective relationships with multiple suppliers
- Experience in mentoring and training team members
