Miryco Consultants are working with a leading insurance broker to hire a Senior Statistical Analyst to join a specialist client-facing actuarial team.
The incoming hire will be given responsibility to lead statistical projects for internal and external business problems, including client propositions, claims forecasts and analytics.

Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of certain projects, working on internal and external actuarial and statistical solutions.
- Lead the implementation of statistical techniques to improve the quality of client propositions through thorough research and analysis.
- Act as lead representative to clients, presenting statistical and actuarial outputs in a commercial manner.
- Work alongside account consultants to provide claims forecasts on PMI and supplement client reporting with accurate technical advice.
- Fortify statistical projects across the Health and Risk function, with specific contribution to strategic business growth and development.
- Assist all business lines with client-facing work by providing insightful analytical commentary.
- As well as acting as project lead, endeavour to develop and mentor other members of the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree level in a numerate, and ideally statistical, subject.
- Health and life insurance experience preferred. Knowledge of private medical insurance claims data and forecasting would be very beneficial.
- Technical proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
- Experience of stress and scenario testing, as well as stochastic modelling.
- Programming experience in R/python and DAX/VBA preferred.
- Curious and investigative personality. Wiling and able to conduct research and development into new areas for the benefit of team performance and the wider business.
- Commercial presentation experience, ideally with regards to presenting quantitative data analysis.
- Strong communication and client-management skills.
Location: London
Salary: Up to £75,000
