Your new role and team

As our new Senior Structural Engineer, you will be part of our award-winning London structures team, delivering projects that range from zero carbon towers in the City of London to bamboo houses as part of disaster relief in Lombok. From innovative low vibration laboratories to our most treasured historic buildings, we actively seek a rich portfolio of work that makes a difference to those who experience it. Working with the leading UK and international architects we are recognised for our bold innovative approach, that is underpinned by our Scandinavian design heritage and foundation ownership. Your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Develop and agree structural concepts and design philosophies
  2. Inspire and enthuse the engineers and technicians on your projects
  3. Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings
  4. Take on the responsibility of overseeing daily operations in a project or specific segment of the project
  5. Grow and maintain a network of contacts and be a great ambassador for Ramboll
  6. Contribute to our efforts in reaching our London Buildings ‘Aspirations’. These include: People, Design, Sustainability and Projects we are proud of

About you

Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.

These include:

  • Have achieved Chartership with the IStructE, ICE or international equivalent
  • An effective communicator capable of explaining complex engineering principles in plain language, verbally, in writing and through sketching
  • Previous experience with working on projects with high levels of design, sustainability or re-use of existing assets
  • Experience in the design of the primary construction materials (steel, concrete, timber) and have a good general knowledge of building construction
  • A keen interest in sustainable solutions
  • A multidisciplinary mindset and an aptitude for learning about the wider aspects of building design
