Senior Technical Insurance Accountant Location: LondonContract Type: PermanentWork Pattern: Full Time and HybridMS AUL appointed a new CFO earlier in 2024 and the role of the Finance function in the context of the wider organisation is changing. Finance is aligning to support a number of key strategic objectives across MS Amlin with 2024 and 2025 being important years where we embed a number of significant changes that will see us report IFRS17 results and accelerate the financial close.It's an exciting time to be part of the MS Amlin Finance team right now. We're looking for an accountant with strong insurance and accounting experience, lots of energy, keen to make a difference and play an important role in building an efficient Finance function.About The JobWhile there is rarely a typical day, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job: Ownership and Responsibility for all Inwards Insurance transactions in the financial result, including:Intermediate understanding of and responsibility for reconciliations and control of automated insurance transactions in the ledgerOwnership of any manual processing required related to inwards insurance transactionsResponsibility for technical intercompany reconciliations with service companies, including being first point-of-contact for intercompany partnersIntermediate understanding of and responsibility for reconciliations and control of automated reserving (e.g. IBNR) transactions in the ledgerFirst point-of-contact for auditors for inwards insurance and reservingResponsibility for analysing and producing commentary on the inwards insurance resultResponsibility and first point-of-contact for any downstream reporting (including Lloyd’s Regulatory and Head Office) and external queries relating to inwards insurance and reserving transactionsSecondary responsibility for outwards reinsurance and intercompany transactionsYou’re going to enjoy this job if you also:Have an eye for detailAre a strong problem solverCan explain complex data in simple termsEmbrace change and continuous improvementEnjoy a collaborative working environmentWhat you’ll need:For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have.
