Senior Technology Design Engineer

The JOB

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated engineer with experience in documenting and designing infrastructure systems for telecommunications/data structured cabling, audio-visual, security, network, and/or wireless systems for various architectural projects. A degree in Electronic Engineering or an ICT related degree are preferred. However, we will consider all qualified candidates for this role. We are expecting this role to commence within the next 2 months, and it can be based at either our London or Manchester office.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available to join our specialist group, ME Technology, working on internationally recognised projects. ME Engineers are an Engineering, Technology and Audio-Visual Consulting firm for Sports Facilities. You will integrate with all design disciplines and specialists to establish client requirements and provide engineered solutions to meet the clients’ expectations and budgets. You will be working with an experienced team, who will help you grow professionally, to assist delivery of this critical element of our built environment engineering solutions. This is a great opportunity for the right person to gain fantastic experience within a unique and energetic team atmosphere dealing with the world’s most iconic venues.

YOUR Qualifications

• A degree in Electronic Engineering or an ICT related degree preferred or else an industry focused diploma.

• Data Networking essentials such as Cisco Certified Network Associate or similar

• Working towards BISCI qualification or other relevant recognised industry qualification or hold RCDD.

• Experience designing infrastructure systems for telecommunications/data structured cabling, audio-visual, security, network, and/or wireless systems for architectural projects. Experienced in technology within the built environment

• Candidates should have experience and understanding of the RIBA process, stages, and expected level of deliverable at each stage. Demonstrating project planning, briefing to technical design task delivery, task quality control procedures, resource planning and working with budgets

• Experience of CDM Regulations and designer responsibilities

• Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT and Bluebeam Revu preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail

• Construction (on-onsite / off-site) site monitoring of works and witness testing of ICT systems

Additional information/requirements

Short stay ad-hoc UK and international travel may be required (typically Europe and Middle East.
