What you'll be doing

  • Attend design workshops to understand proposed solution. Uses business and divisional knowledge to consider impact on other processes and additional testing needs. Works with business and change teams to ensure that the system solutions fully meet business requirements. Uses conceptual knowledge to form recommendations.
  • Uses business and technical knowledge to conduct an in-depth review of requirements. Understands different approaches to testing and the associated benefits and selects most appropriate. Build and maintain basic test plans, test scripts, test schedules and test completion reports.
  • Ensures there is a clearly defined testing approach for their area of responsibility and ensure this that is aligned to the test strategy.
  • Assists management with estimating time and resources required for delivery.
  • Undertake testing to ensure that the defined business requirements/User stories are fully tested prior to live roll out. This may include the testing of new/revised processes.
  • Monitors and reports test progress and status to the appropriate partners on a timely basis including the identification and escalation of key risks and issues and recommends appropriate test solutions. Assists with the maintenance and distribution of the MI reporting suite.
  • Develops and maintains effective working and influencing relationships with colleagues. Works closely with their change teams and business counterparts to resolve any issues around the solution and ensure a successful delivery!
  • Owns resolution of testing issues, identifying and leading mitigating actions against risks as advised by the Test Manager

What we need from you

  • Have or are currently involved in software testing
  • Have a strong understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Have a good understanding of Commercial Banking
  • Relevant qualifications in software testing e.g. ISEB,ISTQB

Optional

  • Knowledgeable in automation testing and tools used
  • Basic programming knowledge
