Senior Trading Underwriter Competitive Salary We currently have an opportunity for an experienced underwriter or broker, who specialises in the field of property / property investment, to join our Property Investors Underwriting team within Aviva's Global Corporate Specialty (GCS) department. This is a great job for someone with excellent relationship building skills and mentoring abilities, matched with commercial Property / Real Estate underwriting experience. A bit about the job: You will be responsible for underwriting profitable business within an aligned portfolio, working closely with brokers (i.e., undertaking face to face meetings) and operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels. We want you to actively pursue opportunities to grow your book of work through new business and renewals, alongside making day-to-day underwriting decisions regarding the acceptance and rating of risks within detailed guidelines and agreed authority limits. You will also be responsible for supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, within the team, in their own development to ensure they achieve their own goals. Skills and experience we're looking for: Extensive Underwriting knowledge within a commercial Property insurance team including specific Real Estate experience Face to face broker experience, in an underwriting capacity, including a proven ability to negotiate case terms with brokers at a senior level and build strong business relationships Extensive experience of coaching, training, and mentoring others in technical subjects. Experience of conducting internal and external underwriting audits, showcasing excellent attention to detail Ability to analyse complex information and draw out the relevant facts, - and then present them to others in a variety of formats What you'll get for this role: Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow - is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
