Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Treasury Operations Officer within the Balance Sheet Risk Reporting and Forecasting team. This is a varied role working to support Nationwide’s Treasury function. You will be predominantly focusing on Static Data and Credit Monitoring to ensure Treasury can trade effectively, whilst also ensuring regulation and internal controls are adhered to.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, at one of our offices. This role will include working from our Swindon or Northampton Office, two days per week.


This role will keep you on your toes. It is fast paced with requests coming in from multiple areas within Treasury and elsewhere in Nationwide. You will work to prioritise tasks to ensure that the business is supported.


Tasks vary greatly, ranging from setting up bonds, counterparties, and settlement instructions to enable our Front Office teams to trade, to managing credit limits, dealer mandates to ensure we protect Nationwide. Monthly reporting is also required so a basic level of excel experience would be necessary.


You will be expected to find efficiencies in our day-to-day work to help streamline and simplify processes and to work closely with our technical team to enhance our current system.


You will need to be flexible in this role in order to adapt to ever-changing deadlines, and unforeseen spikes in trades and queries. It is essential that you have a positive, resilient attitude, and the attention to detail to ensure data is recorded correctly and controls are in place.

  • The ability to manage your own workload in a time critical environment, due to high volumes of credit limit, securities and settlement instruction requests.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills which will be used to work with colleagues in treasury, finance and external parties including rating agencies and FS institutions.
  • Experience of working to strict controls procedures with a clear segregation of duties between teams to constrain Operational Risk.
  • Excel knowledge with some experience of working with macros and formulas
  • The ability to adapt to change and reprioritise at short notice
