Job Description
We are looking for a Field Service / Applications Engineer to join a Product Development company specialising in ultra-high precision electro-mechanical & optical instrumentation for the worldwide semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sectors.
The Field Service Engineer / Applications Engineer role will be split between their site in Bedfordshire where you will be planning, coordinating, providing support of company-built equipment, and visiting clients - both within the UK and internationally (USA, Europe and Far East).
Responsibilities:
Provision of on-site troubleshooting and customer support via email and telephone for company-built equipment
Conduct on-site installation, commissioning and customer training
Determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedules required to maintain machines in prescribed condition
Develop and conduct equipment training programs
Support the Sales team by demonstrating equipment to potential customers
Assist the Engineering department with development and prototype work
Fault finding and commissioning duties
Requirements:
BTEC ONC, HNC or degree in mechanical engineering, electronics or general engineering
A minimum of 3 to 5 years customer-facing equipment service experience
A good understanding of precision mechanisms and electrical/electronic systems
Experience in component level fault finding and testing procedures
Must be able to travel – both in the UK and internationally (up to 50% of the time)
Good problem solving/analytical skills
Full driving licence and current passport
