Job Description


Join the Service Desk team as 1st / 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer with our client where you will resolve or escalate tickets relating to a broad and varied range of technology issues. This includes support issues with hardware, Microsoft applications, business applications, printers, desktops, networks and mobiles.

Youll provide 1st 2ndline support on a range of Service Desk tickets and service requests. Sometimes you will resolve tickets remotely and other times you may provide support at the deskside of the user. Youll be involved with tasks such as:
Set up laptops / desktops for new users with logins, active directory passwords, MS Exchange, Teams, MS Office / Office 365
Laptops, mobile phones and printers that need repaired and liaising with 3rd party suppliers.
Software installations of MS Teams, MS Office
Ordering IT for employees such as monitors, printers, toner cartridges
Active Directory user management such as adding machines to a domain, set up new users, adding users to groups.
Access to network drives, PC performance / running too slow
Email issues




Once youve mastered this role, you can progress your IT career in other IT roles / functions within the large IT department. This company likes to promote from within and offer its employees new career challenges.




ABOUT YOU:
You need to work autonomously, therefore be self-motivated and work with minimum supervision on daily task.
Good at asking the right questions around the support issue and troubleshooting
YOU might be in a non IT job but are currently expected to help with IT issues, like to ones above, and now you want to move full time into an IT support role.
Set up laptops / PCs for new users
Active Directory user management such as adding machines to a domain, set up new users, adding users to groups.
Youll have a positive attitude, enjoy helping people & problem solving plus like finding improvements.


This role is based in the Leicester office 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Once every two weeks you will go to the Redditch office (travel will be paid). Service desk shifts are Monday to Friday ONLY and are 07:00 to 15:30, 08:30 to 17:00 or 09.30 to 18:00. Shifts may vary week to week.




Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 + pension + bonus + 25 days holiday + public holiday
