Job Description

Mental Health Support Service Manager with experience of managing a service in a health or social care setting including managing staff and volunteers, working with Commissioners, Internal staff, Service Users, External agencies and other partnered organisations is required for a well-established mental health charity based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
SALARY: £28,879 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Field based role which requires travelacross MiltonKeynes areas
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week may include evening and weekend work
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Mental Health Support Service Manager withexperience of managing a service in a health or social care setting including managing staff and volunteers, working with Commissioners, Internal staff, Service Users, External agencies and other partnered organisations.
The service provides support for people aged 18 years and over who have mental health support needs. Support is provided through structured and unstructured support which includes 121 interventions and group-based workshops delivered through a blended model.
Working as a Mental Health Support Service Manager you will support Peer Support Workers and Recovery & Inclusion Coach staff members to deliver goal-focussed, person-centred support to service users based on co-produced and sustainable recovery plans.
As a Mental Health Support Service Manager you will work with staff to identify, train and support staff in their roles.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Mental Health Support Service Manager will include:
Lead and develop teams to deliver forward thinking, recovery orientated and high-quality services

Ensure that effective two-way communications are in place and teams are kept fully informed of national and local developments

Ensure all staff are supported and developed through on the job coaching, individual supervision, group supervision and appraisals

Process and authorise staff additional payments, invoices, petty cash, travel bookings etc

Champion innovation and lead the implementation of enhancements to my services

Manage the recruitment of staff as the selection panel leader, ensuring compliance with Recruitment & Selection policy and equality legislation

Ensure that services are accessible and meet the needs of service users

Ensure any premises (including community venues) are appropriate for the service being delivered and meet all health and safety and equality legislative requirements

Lead and manage staff to ensure that the highest levels of performance and standards of conduct at all times

Contribute to the service planning process

Engage with local community events, meetings and forums to promote the service

Monitor and report on the effectiveness of service delivery and contract performance, providing statistical information and written reports to the Head of Service
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
NVQ 3 / QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care related subject

Work proactively and collaboratively with others; be creative, adaptable, and bring a positive enthusiasm to work

Experience of managing a service in a health or social care setting, including managing & supporting a staff team and volunteers

Experience of dealing with and reporting Incidents/Accidents/Near Misses and safeguarding reporting

Ability to assess, plan and monitor support to achieve & evidence recovery and service outcomes

Experience of leading and managing a dispersed team across multiple sites, including recruiting and managing performance

Excellent time management skills with ability to plan and prioritise a complex workload

Demonstrate a significant knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental illness and be familiar with best practice developments

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently with colleagues of all levels

Effectively managing budgets

Excellent IT skills proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
