SHIFT ENGINEER
MONDAY - FRIDAY: 06.00 - 14.00 / 14.00 - 22.00 ROTATING WEEKLY
£40,000 PER ANNUM
People Solutions are looking for a Shift Engineer for our client based in Cardiff.

Day to Day Duties
- Preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
- Responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the site
- Involvement with new design, installation and movements of existing machines
- Overhaul and repair of machinery, ensuring that all equipment on site is safe to use, working efficiently and fit for purpose
- Alternating a week of days and afternoons, candidates must be as flexible as possible
- Call outs maybe required in line with the remit
- Attend to breakdowns onsite, ensuring that there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised
- Ensuring the provision of a safe and healthy working environment
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Complete suitable risk assessments, prior to undertaking maintenance and repair work, and documenting in full, to ensure safe working practices
- Work with and install single phase / three phase electrical circuits
- To action and complete time / task sheets on a daily basis, in accordance with agreed procedures
Essential Skills
- A recognized Electrical / Mechanical Apprenticeship
- Must be a qualified multi skilled Engineer, with an electrical bias
- At least three years' experience working in a food production environment
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- BRC experience
- Good standard of written and oral English
