Shift:
Continental 3 Shift Pattern - 8-hour shifts rotating weekly: 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6
Salary:
£40k, plus a 20% shift allowance
About the Position:
This is an open position with immediate starts available at GAP Plastics in Blackburn. We are looking for an electrical bias Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role involves working with various fenestration machinery, contributing to growth plans, and offering clear career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identify root causes, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, control panels, circuits, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and departments to address and resolve issues.
- Complete work orders and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings (Ladder diagrams).
- Experience with PLC Controls and fault-finding.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces.
