37.5 Hours per week Permanent post We are seeking interest for a Band 6 Sister role to work within the Neurology Day Unit. You will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by using professional judgement and assuming responsibility and accountability for assessing, implementing and evaluating clinical care for patients to meet their needs in a safe caring environment that promotes dignity, privacy and respect.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be expected to develop knowledge and skills within the speciality and will assist in the management and organisation of nursing work in the ward/department within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
The post holder will supervise the working of staff nurses, health care assistants and support workers and support the training and assessment of student nurses.
Demonstrates the trust Values and Behaviours for nursing and midwifery staff at all times
The post holder has a duty of care to patients and are expected to comply fully with best practice standards and comply with trust policies for personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections

- oFirst level degree in the nursing discipline and record of continuous personal, professional and academic development.
- Or a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE), Foundation Degree Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least demonstratable, equivalent to degree level specialist experience
- oSignificant experience of working with patients with Neurological Conditions.
- oRecognised teaching qualification.
Knowledge & SkillsEssential - Knowledge of NICE guideline for management of neurological disorders. & NSF for long term conditions
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team, as well as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Personal AttributesEssential - Ability to lead, manage and motivate self and others.
