JOB TITILE: Senior IT Systems Engineer

LOCATION: Manchester

ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems UK Ltd provides airport software solutions that underpin the airport's flight operations all over the world, in fact over 75% of people who fly every year will do so through an airport that depends upon our solutions. We need a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to complement our existing team and help us capitalise on the fantastic growth potential that exists for us.

JOB PURPOSE

The Purpose of the Senior IT System Engineer is to manage, monitor and maintain the core IT services to the Airport Systems business in conjunction with the IT Services provided by Group IT. These services must be online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to allow us to provide support to our global customer base. These services must also meet the ISO 27001 information security standard. This role must be able to work with colleagues in all areas of the business, including the wider ADB SAFEGATE group. You will play a major role in transforming the company IT provision from internally based to using a managed service provider and the move from on premise services to cloud-based services as the company IT systems merge with the wider group. You will also need to be able to work as part of the technical team supporting our existing systems and users, including providing out of hours support.

Key Responsibilities:
To act as the point of escalation for IT issues within the business.
To act as the lead on the relationship with the wider ADB SAFEGATE IT organisation, acting as an advocate for Airport Systems.
Work as part of a team to identify and communicate requirements to the managed service provider as part of the IT transformation project.
Ensure that IT services, process, and documentation meet the requirements of ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
Ensure that appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place for corporate IT systems.
Help managing of 3rd party suppliers providing a range of services including telecoms, managed security, print, and internet services.
To provide technical support such as working with Microsoft Windows systems.
Ongoing maintenance of systems including virtual systems.
Recommending security enhancements to the existing systems
Working with server hardware such as Dell PowerEdge systems
Complete commitment to satisfying the security and uptime requirements of all systems with rapid restoration of services after down-time
Working with security hardware / software as well as Email and Web security products
Provide support for networking hardware
To provide out of hours support on a rota basis to users experiencing any urgent issues
Any other duties deemed appropriate to the nature and scope of the post.

SKILLS /EXPERIENCE

Essential:
Experience of working with stakeholders both onsite and offsite.
Experience of supplier management
Experience of supporting MS Windows client and server environments, including Hyper V
Broad knowledge of Microsoft systems including Exchange, SQL, SCOM, SCCM
Hands on experience with SAN storage systems
Backup systems Microsoft DPM and Veeam
Excellent diagnostic/fault finding skills.
Strong documentation skills
Experience in both working alone and as part of a team.
Experience of working with an IT Helpdesk
Experience in both hardware and software support/maintenance and setup
Experience of supporting Microsoft 365 products such as SharePoint\Teams and OneDrive
Experience of supporting remote global users
Understanding of networking concepts / protocols with experience of configuring devices in live environments
Desirable:
Experience of supporting mobile devices
Experience of configuration and maintenance of enterprise class firewall products
Experience of configuration and maintenance of IPSEC site to site VPN's
Experience of maintaining a managed Anti-Virus environment
Experience in an operational network role
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential:
IT related degree or equivalent
Desirable:
ITIL Foundation Certificate
CCNA qualifications
MCSE or MCSA qualifications
