About Mason & Fifth:

Founded in 2020, Mason & Fifth set out to imagine a new way of living - to design beautiful buildings with everything you need to stay for a weekend or a lifetime. Balancing the need for privacy and community, with fully furnished studios, and large shared areas to eat, work and relax, surrounded by like-minded folk.

We want to create a world in which we can pack up and move freely without being tied into long contracts. Where we can live in beautiful spaces that nourish us individually, whilst still making meaningful connections with our neighbours and giving back to the wider communities around us.

Our core values:

  • Beautiful, conscious design, ensuring that beautiful design does not come at a cost to the planet
  • Elevating life for those inside, with high standards of resident well-being at the core
  • Positively impacting local area, using our spaces and residents to give back to the neighbourhoods we inhabit
  • A team that lives what they preach, applying our own ethos and well-being standards to every member of our team too

Our first site in London’s Bermondsey is made up of 28 private studios and initially took residents in who were looking to stay for three months or more. In 2023, we introduced short stays, allowing people to book for as little as three nights in six of our ‘short stay’ studios. This was a proof of concept for our flexible living model and in April 2024 we launched our second building in Primrose Hill as a boutique guesthouse, with 61 studios available to stay for a night or a lifetime. With more new sites on the horizon, the team is expanding to meet the needs of our exciting and growing business.

We are now looking for a creative, passionate Social & Content Manager to join our team to lead on our social media strategy, marketing mailers and content creation.

This role is ideal for someone who has experience of and understands how to grow an engaged and authentic brand community, has a keen eye for capturing original content, and keeps things fun, working well with people and getting the best out of them.

The main responsibilities of the Social & Content Manager include:

Social & Content Strategy:

  • Our main social channels are IG and LI, but we are open to exploring other channels that are right for our brand and audience. You will be responsible for the strategic selection of channels that build our brand reach with our core target audiences, building brand engagement and direct sales.
  • Looking at historical organic performance, you will lead on setting growth and engagement targets and developing plans to achieve them, as well as monthly reporting on progress.
  • Keeping abreast of social trends and algorithms to deliver results, but working closely with the Brand Team to ensure that growth never comes at a cost to the brand.
  • Thinking through our whole content ecosystem to maximise all opportunities across website, email, social, paid social, Spirit Level - ensuring they are synched up rather than siloed.
  • Understanding our commercial objectives and balancing the needs of our businesses to drive sales, with building love for the brand with engaging content

Creating and posting content:

  • Responsible for planning our content calendars each month, including writing copy with all the correct tagging, seeking approvals where required, looking at the best times to post and aligning with key campaign moments.
  • You will be out and about between our buildings, capturing stills and videos that bring our spaces, people, events and brand stories to life. Passionate about the visual world, you will be a natural with a camera - understanding lighting, angles and making beautiful, engaging content that fits with our overall brand aesthetic.
  • Editing images and videos, creating gifs, as well as having a working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to add branded titles (and ideally motion graphics!) to elevate all our visual output.
  • Working with the Senior Brand Manager to identify when additional external photographers and videographers are needed for hero assets and work together on briefing them and getting the final assets required for organic and paid social.
  • Thinking creatively about stories we can tell, working closely with the wider team to understand all that is happening and finding the best content opportunities.

Partnerships & Influencers

  • Working directly with our partners to help build our reach through collaborative posts and tagging, always ensuring to protect our brand image, whilst pushing us to try new things and experiment with ways to grow.
  • Identifying ‘on brand’ influencers and creators who we can work with for content in return for free stays, and making sure they are well looked after and follow up on their agreed deliverables.
  • Ideating creative partnerships and content initiatives & series that can help us grow in reach and depth as a brand.

Community Management

  • Managing DMs and comments across all social channels, including paid social, speedily and passing on any relevant enquiries to sales / ops / brand.
  • Managing our hello@mason-fith.com inbox
  • Responding to Google Reviews
  • Reposting tagged content where appropriate.

Paid Social

  • Creating hero assets for paid social and working with the Senior Brand Manager and Performance Marketing consultant to use the assets, monitoring performance and adjusting assets accordingly.

Spirit Level

  • Working with the Senior Brand Manager and our 3 x staff writers to propose editorial ideas and brief and feedback on the writers pieces.
  • Using the articles to enrich our brand POV, sharing stories of alternative ways of living, and utilising the content across platforms to maximise impact.

Marketing Emails

  • Driving email sign-ups across our various touchpoints (website, WIFI, social etc) to build our reach via marketing emails.
  • Devising and creating our monthly marketing mailers and sending via Mailchimp, with high open and click rates - ensuring we are telling the key stories at the right time, aligned across platforms.
  • Devising and creating our monthly resident newsletter including event info and sign-up links.

You will be joining a small, but growing team, where you will play an integral role in the performance of the business as well as its culture. There are a number of additional employee perks which are being developed for the full team which will be added to your overall package.
