Job Description

Themis Recruit are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Housing Solicitor to join our client's dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving various aspects of social housing law, providing expert legal advice and representation to registered social landlords, housing associations, and tenants. This role requires a deep understanding of housing law, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to social justice.


The successful candidate will need to assist members of the Social Housing Team in managing a caseload that includes defending disrepair claims brought against our clients, handling county court possession claims, and preparing injunction applications, particularly in cases involving tenant anti-social behaviour.

Requirements:


  • Any experience working with Housing Associations or Local Authority’s welcome but not essential;
  • Excellent computer/technical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use discretion
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to team work
  • A flexible, highly motivated, proactive and ‘can do’ working style
  • Self-motivated, ability to use initiative and provide pro-active support to the Social Housing team
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and check own work
  • Good organisational skills, able to prioritise, make decisions and work effectively within a sometimes pressurised environment
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development.
