Job Description

Canon Europe are looking for a Social Media and Digital Communications Lead, you will be the owner of social media platform operations that support the delivery of impactful and engaging experiences to our audiences across the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. This includes ensuring we are on the right platforms and are proactively considering opportunities with new and emerging platforms while also streamlining and transforming existing channels as needed. Responsible for central governance and reporting ensuring platforms and channels are effectively delivering against objectives, as well as being the product owner for Sprout Social and relationship management with platform representatives. Own, manage and support enhancing Canon EMEA’s presence on social media and related digital platforms; including local markets across the EMEA region and centrally managed channels to drive results and impact.Work with key marketing stakeholders in B2C and B2B business units and our imaging and printing businesses (PR + Social) teams to determine ongoing enhancements to support objectives and drive ROI.Mentor and collaborate directly with social media specialists in the corporate and commercial teams to ensure platform effectiveness and evaluating KPIs.Work with our Corporate Communications Marketing & Sustainability colleagues in the local and regional markets across EMEA to determine country specific requirements and advise on usage of existing or emerging platforms to deliver.Provide counsel and advice to business stakeholders and Corporate Communications team on the current capabilities of our chosen social media platforms and be the main point of contact with the business to identify new and future capabilities and platforms.Manage and deliver governance processes and be responsible for crisis planning, maintain and update social media policies and guidelines over platforms centrally managed and locally managed through national and regional sales operations.Provide governance and support over influencer network for corporate and commercial activities working with PR and social teams.Build out social servicing strategy as part of community management.Manage relationships with Sprout Social and platform representatives.Identify, create and deliver end user training as required. What we askDemonstrable experience in similar roles and international Social Media experience including working with and managing all major social media platforms.Experience with mature channels and driving through transformation or rationalisation of presence to match evolving business needs, changing consumer behaviours and ways in which platforms update algorithms.Comprehensive understanding of content marketing and digital user journeys, including owned, earned and paid media co-exist and reinforce each other.Experience managing people.Able to influence and effect change through persuasion.Established network of professional contacts throughout the field.Excellent organisational skills with a strong eye for detail.Self-motivated, collaborative & pragmatic; Can do attitude.Capable of managing multiple projects at once, prioritising effectively and responding flexibly to the changing needs of the business.Ability to educate and effectively identify and influence internal stakeholders.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence senior level stakeholder.Relevant Communications / CIPR accreditation and / or qualifications.Ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure.A team player who enjoys working as part of a team.
