Software Development Engineer II - Full StackThe Experience Platform org in Expedia Group enables developers across Expedia Group to build and maintain their applications, user experiences and business domains, with reduced friction and increased use of cross-EG solutions and communities of practice.This position is for a Fullstack Engineer which focuses on building a UI application framework that serves user experiences to our customers. You will work on opportunities across the Experience Platform org and with our partners across Expedia Group.As a participant of the team, you'll estimate engineering efforts, design your changes, implement, and test your changes, push to live, and triage production issues. You need to be collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences and improve existing frameworks powering the world's largest travel mobile apps at a scale only a few companies can match.What you will do:Build and evolve the next gen Expedia Group (EG) shared component library framework to be adapted by different EG brands and our server driven UI experience layer Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to enable them to co-develop, re-use and solve problems.Develop and test standard software applications in React and GraphQL and related programs and proceduresParticipate in code reviews to assess overcall code quality and flexibilityApply software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions.Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software development process within an agile development team.Write automation tests, unit tests and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines.Collaborate with team members to co-develop and resolve problemsBe involved in product feature development, and will be working in close partnership with our teams across all our offices around the worldWho you are:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a Technical field; or related field; or equivalent related professional experienceProfessional full stack web development experience.Experienced with React, Typescript, Node and Apollo GraphQLPassionate about building and refining high-performance web apps.Demonstrates familiarity with associated technologies within their specialization as part of the wider SDLC ecosystem. Example - CI/CD, Git, Github ActionsExcited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks - love all aspects of application development, from brainstorming and design to implementation and launch.Experience in testing and monitoring your own code.Previous experience on large codebases.Experience in Agile development.Communicate with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate
